First and foremost, UX professionals must be empathetic. As a UX quality, the primary focus of your work is on the wants and needs of the people who use the products that you create. It requires that you open your heart to them and put their best before your own.
That you be fully with them in the moment. That you look deeply into their eyes and really see them for who they are. You person to be open to many different types of people from many different cultures. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place. Effective listening is especially important when doing user research. Having empathy, being a good listener, and using your intuition will together make you a superior researcher. As a UX professional, you must persuade others to embrace your ideas and follow your plans to get anything done.
